Exteriors Unlimited was started in 1998 by Stenerson Bros. Lumber Company. Stenerson Lumber was looking toward installed sales. The dilemma was what would be the best direction to choose, while not competing directly with our contractor customer base. After looking at several items that could be sold installed, it was decided that the seamless siding business would “fit the bill”.

A salesman was hired in Detroit Lakes and a new division was formed. It was a slow beginning in 1999. That year brought only a few jobs and there was the problem of finding qualified installers. We had only one seamless machine and few leads. As the summer progressed, we were able to acquire skilled help and the business was off and running. Today, we are employing three full time siding crews and a window crew in Detroit Lakes. We get most of our leads from previous job referrals.

In 2002 we opened another branch in Fergus Falls. We are now operating with two full time siding crews at that location. The business has grown steadily in Fergus and it is hot on the trail of our Detroit Lakes location.
